The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award of achievement a Girl Scout can receive within the organization. To be considered, Girl Scouts must create a sustainable, community service-based project.
Jasmine Goode, a recent ASU graduate, was a Girl Scout for 10 years and earned the award in high school. Goode created a neighborhood knitting program called Knitting Know-How. The program brings knitting, crocheting and other crafts to multigenerational homes in her neighborhood. She said creating this program and winning the Gold Award gave her confidence in leadership and communication skills, and set her up for the success she had in college at ASU.
